Icon Retreat

TThis evening we are halfway through our icon retreat. Day 1 was a blast I felt energised and though I was tired at the end of it the tiredness was different.  There was a lovely atmosphere in the Wellsprings  Centre in Celbridge. We had a lovely lunch and the bunch of people doing the retreat were lovely. Mihai was lovely and so patient with us and our ham fisted efforts. 

All that's left for us to do now is the face and tassels on the sleeves and fine lines. Day two was a bit of a disaster for me. It was like before years ago when I used to have trouble singing even though I wanted to sing well and I did sound well but I suffered greatly with nerves before I sang.  I just  couldn't understand why I couldn't paint and the answer came to me later in the evening. Why was I being so hard on myself I hadn't painted much before and here I was expecting myself to do it easily first time. If I didn't change my attitude I would have a miserable week and do nothing to be proud of. 

Today was so different, I painted lines easily and though I know they weren't perfect they were good enough and I am so looking forward to going back in tomorrow. Buns halve been made tonight so there will be no delay in the morning.
